Only ever got to watch my cousin play it, but yes it was better. I hear it still holds up today too

Loved the chanting of the fire temple.
I used to own 4 different physical copies of OoT, one the gold cartridge release, and played it so many times that I actually came to really like the Water Temple.

I had a friend in high school who named Angelo, Rinoa's dog in FF VIII, One Nut. It was rather amusing. "Angelo Rush" and "Angelo Cannon" become "One Nut Rush" and "One Nut Cannon".
My go to name in RPGs is God, in Zelda games I always name Link God (except MM where I went with IAmGod), and back when Pokemon rivals could be named I always named them Dipshit. I think it was Platinum, the first line of dialogue from your mom became something to the effect of "Oh, God, that friend of yours Dipshit came by to see you."

Was too young to be aware when it passed, but Hale Bopp was the big deal I remember. Also Shoemaker Levy 9.
Watched it start to finish with a telescope, while I'm hopeful that I'll be here to see it again only time will tell.

I actually recently downloaded the comics, but have started reading them with the currently in production IDW series.
