Both my grandfather's were in support groups I got to go with to a few. Never paid attention cause I was like 4-5yo but yah that happened.

I don't drink cause I'm afraid of turning into my grandfather and I don't smoke cause I hate the smell. Coats were kept in the breezeway growing up so they always ended up smelling like cigarettes despite being washed 3 times. Now every time I walk past people smoking I gag a little.

I'd say good for you if you can stay away from drinking. You don't need alcohol to enjoy life. Most of the times were I have been super depressed was when I was blitzed
