Do you play any musical instruments?

I was wondering how many of us play any instruments, and if so, which one(s)?

I play the cello, contrabass, bass guitar, guitar, accordion, ukulele, biwa, guqin, violin, viola, castanets, spoons, washboard, banjo, mandolin, piano, harp, dan bao, harmonica, jaw harp, my voice (not very good yet), and others I may have forgotten to put in!

I am an amateur ethnomusicologist and luthier, so learning how to play new instruments and the culture behind them is my hobby, I will continue to learn more instruments throughout my life!

Oh, music and flute lessobs in school. Never got the minimum interest in it.

I can only play the doorbell part in "Pensylvanya 6-5000", still I've toyed on the hardware part building a few electronic instruments, mostly to be used on analog synth devices. (guilty friend lurking at this site too 😅)
But also got creative with basic theremins and a personal laser harp project, both midi and 70' tech versions.
As for "classic luthier" I became curious to build a "zanfona" with some odd tweaks.
Technically is fine but up to this day I still hate the final version I did as a gift, sounds really worse compared with the test version I did with leftover materials. I'd likely set it on fire and start anew

and in any case, I am unable to get more than intuitive sound from *anything*
🤬

Viola (and by simple extension violin and cello), recorder, and piano. I'm semiprofessional on the viola and play in orchestras (I'm not a soloist). The others I just tinker with.

Do you live on the reservation or nearby. I live nearby.
I did for a little while and got my Cherokee ID, but not anymore, I'm currently living up in Illinois with my mom and stepdad while I figure out where I'm gonna go to college, but I'm definitely thinking about going back one day, if only for a little bit to update my ID.

Guitar, Fretless Bass, Piano, Didgeridoo, lol.

Also, not sure how you managed to play so many instruments, thats quite nuts but well done for having such a plethora of choices!

I've only managed to do so because it's just a hobby of mine to learn new instruments, also because many people don't know the true value of their instruments when selling on Facebook, so I can get them a lot cheaper there

I saw this right as I was logging out and had to come back to tell you I play the

Throbbone

Worth it

i play guitar, violin, cello, harmonica, piano, drums, coronet, plus i perform publicly, record, mix/edit, master, & i am a label owner producing for myself and 2 other artists... but mostly i lazily produce alot of electronic experimental...

I played the saxophone and clarinet when I was younger but since I don't own em anymore that's kinda disappeared lol. I mess around with DAWs occasionally tho.

it may not bethe popular choice , but i like Audacity.. mostly because its free and there's not much to it

My main instrument is the flute, it's what I started with. I'm learning others like piano and some synth devices cause I like to compose stuff.

Mostly guitar and bass, I've messed about with violin, mandolin, piano, and a number of other instruments. Haven't committed to playing anything other than guitar though. I currently have like 4 guitars each has its own characteristics benefits and drawbacks but my favorite one is my ibanez semi hollow. I like how it feels, looks, plays and the grungy tones I get out of it.

I went through a plethora of instruments trying to find one I liked in middle school, my teacher was a family friend and found it amusing too, until I found the clarinet. Played that all through school. I still have it and occasionally played as I find it as a stress reliever. Haven't played in a while though😅
