Would I be happy in such a relationship? Add about 20 more questions along that theme to the list.

I eventually did meet him and I ended up liking him even more so we eventually gave it a whirl, despite my aforementioned reservations.

One of his dogs had zero interest. The other dog had occasional interest, but not with any regularity or frequency. The issue that caused the relationship to end was his being far more fetish-driven than I had initially perceived. I read that one wrong for sure. So for me, that mean the NRE we had in the beginning wore off rather quickly and without anything else noticeably "awesome" about being together, it ended.

Thank you for the great insight! It's not for everyone and while I think many guys wish for the fantasy to come true they forget these are real people and pets here. Not all people want a dog sex only life and not all animals want sex with humans.
 
There are times when dogs are not very interested. You never know. But mostly they do get excited and go for it all the way. Two dogs sometimes try to jump on at same time but one needs to wait until his turn. A double should be fun. You boy friend gets his kicks from watching.

I actually find that more attractive. I'm not into non-zoo women, the more a girl loves a (our) canine partner, the more I'm into her.

But on a brighter note, imo this kind of situation could work if each human had their own nonhuman partner and everyone got along really well, ideally well enough for amazing, even if just occasional, 4somes and various combinations therein!
