YIMBY aka (Yesterday I Made Bacon and Yams) is no longer alone when it comes to food exploration. I love experimenting! Why today I made Asparagus. But, I didn't make it in any traditional way. I slow cookied jowl bacon for an hour and a half, then added in asparagus and onions and slow cooked it for an additional hour. Added in salt, black pepper, chili pepper, and garlic powder. It came out... not bad at all. But probably a little over slow cooked with the asparagus, as it's super freaking soft.
 
18382 Actually up until late last year I refused to give Asparagus another try because I absolutely HATED the flavor of it during my childhood. It was actually one of the food I had to scarf down to get it over with and not vomit in my mouth, because I hated the flavor so much. (Luckily my mother didn't make it very often.) But I do know that your taste buds change as you grow older. A friend on here convinced me to give it another shot, so I fried it in butter like a true American, and it wasn't bad. Definitely not as bad as I remembered it being during childhood. My creation today is the second time I've made something with asparagus in it, since trying it again during adulthood. So... ?‍♂️
