They're not supposed to do so. Historically I'd play in this thread and merge/delete double posts, add numbers to posts where people forgot to add a number, to keep the thread nice and tidy. The rules of the game state this...
However it was agreed upon by the regular players awhile back that if someone's account was nuked (all their posts got deleted by a mod) that we'd just leave off where we were using the number in the upper right corner of the last post to keep the numbers on track.
So the rules basically are:
1) Don't post after yourself, only post again if someone else replies after you.
2) Make sure your post has a number.
3) If an account gets nuked, make sure to continue off from the number in the upper right corner.
I myself used to make sure everything was kept on track, and checked the thread daily, but I pretty much now only play the count thread over on the other smaller zoo forum I manage. So I obviously haven't been keeping the thread on track here lately.
