First time I heard about Kentucky, I was very young and watched a movie I was probably too young to watch. They pronounced it as Ken-tuck-ee.
"The last of the Mohicans".
And I truly thought that landscape was utterly amazing, if it was filmed in Kentucky, which I don't know if it was.
And since then I have always wanted to go there. Went first south and then north of it during my USA road trip and my traveling companions did not want to go there, but some rednecks speaking "French" was apparently beaucoup better than mountains and wildlife as far as the eye could see.

Seeing @ShanoirII reminds me of Kentucky remaining on my bucket list, and that makes me happy.

there certainly are a whole lot of wild lands to see in kentucky.
just driving through the state, there are lots of roads that go between series of tall, forested hills that i like looking at while traveling.
if you get up onto a hill, you can see the trees spread out into the distance, with some scattered streams and open fields
there are lots of parks like the famous Mammoth Cave Park or Natural Bridge Park that you could explore.

i hope you get the chance to see the state at some point in the future, and that it lives up to expectations.
