So what you're saying is that the oceans only look blue because they reflect blue light?I believe the planet earth is everything but blue. The oceans only appear blue because that's the wavelength of color that's reflected back to our eyes.... something like that anyways, without Googling it.
It's more like, the ocean absorbs ever single color except blue, but our eyes interpret the absence of absorption as blue. Something like that. YIMBY's explanation is fine. And it is because they absorb every colour except for blue, just like Floofy says. White things absorb nothing and black things absorb everything, and then we have everything else inbetween. Perhaps we could make it more nuanced by mentioning the different wavelengths, but as long as we don't have to do any measurements or calculations, we don't need to.So what you're saying is that the oceans only look blue because they reflect blue light?
