Realistically, unless you have a friend or relative who keeps horses, that's going to be the only way to learn.

I have plenty of emergency funds saved up for just in case. With owning an older home I never know when I'll run into issues. Or if I'll need it for car issues. Or if I'll need it for medical emergencies for both myself or my doggos. I could go out and pay for riding lessons easily, but I'd rather not compromise my safety net.
