That's true, I started right when I got out of highschool. But unfortunately nowadays it's hard to get anywhere without a degree or a trade skill. A college degree/trade certificate is today what a highschool diploma was 50 years ago. I don't even want to know how bad the future is going to be.

Its crazy. In some ways its kind of going the other way for some sectors too. I guess you could call my sector not a trade but highly trained professionals lol. Having a degree is what got you higher up the ladder but the sector is hurting so bad that many places are dropping the degree requirements and I'm sitting here like welp ?

I know construction is slowly becoming that way. They're absolutely desperate for mortars. Nobody wants to lay bricks nowadays. But to give you an example of what I mean, one of my older family members used to make over $100,000 a year with only a highschool degree. They joined a company a worked their way up to the top in 30 years. Something like that today is pretty much unheard of. I have a decent job, but I don't even make half of that. That'll be, yet.
