My last 2 dryers came from the side of the road I ended up replacing the belt In one ran it till the motor burnt out. The one I currently own I replaced the main carrier bearing on the drum.

Mine were $150 each (washer and dryer) from a consignment store. Sure they were made in like 2003, but those are the best kind in my opinion. Right before they started getting jammed full of computers and parts that are irreplaceable. They're simple and mechanical, if something breaks you can usually just find a YouTube video on how to fix it, instead of being expected to toss it out and buying another one in 5 years time. I've gotten 2 years of flawless service out of mine so far. *Knock on wood.*
