Have to tear front suspension apart so I can half pull the motor and swap oil pan and gasget since I punched a hole through the old one. Shouldn't be made of cast aluminum but that's gm for ya.

The longer of the two axles is bolted to the back of the motor with a carrier bearing which is why I have to tear the suspension apart. Otherwise I'd be like fuck it I can get enough clearance.

I like that I can tune literally anything I wish with this new fuel injection software but damn if it's not a pain in the ass to create baseline settings for boost timing retard/fuel enrichment nevermind the water/methanol injection tables to go with them, yay modern technology ?

My experience with tuning is limited to pluging in stuff flashing a new tune on and praying that it'll run afterwards and not immediately commit suicide?. But that's because I'm too broke to swap computers and build an actual tune from scratch

I'm swapping from a carburetor to efi and replacing all the old homemade controls with the built-in ones in the fuel injection, with the old set-up it put out 638 rear wheel horsepower, aiming for 850+ with the new system.

Keep in mind I'm trying to make a motor with 230 grand on the od push 300hp at 15psi of boost so its going to die I fully expect it to or it will hold and I'll keep driving it till it eventually kills the head gasget

That's why I went with a Holley Super Sniper EFI conversion, self tuning after I get the initial setup how I want, and it's capable of supporting 1375hp so twin turbos are likely in the future, this is a 7.2 liter big block running 14psi currently.

I'm not running anything nearly that big it's a humble single turbo 2.0L audi I4. Very limited potential might do an ae86 or star motors swap depending on which of the two are going to be an easier conversion.

I've installed dozens of them so far and haven't had any issues, none nearly as powerful nor heavy as my truck but that shouldn't make any difference at all. I wasn't going to swap from the carb but three pump failures in one week and being on the side of the road changing them out convinced me that ethanol fuel and low pressure fuel systems just aren't trustworthy anymore.

But the Sniper doesn't care, and mine is a custom built unit as well, CNC machined like the X Flow series but on a 8 injector Super Sniper 1250.

Looks like a sweet setup, could probably integrate a flexfuel sensor with that too and do something similar. Then have no worries about ethanol content if you ever get stuck watering it down with pump gas.
That's true, it's way easier to use E on EFI. I'm actually installing an oem flexfuel sensor tonight and going to set up advanced tables to adjust timing, boost limits, etc. As content goes up or down. Saves the headaches with it.70049

This is a 6000+ pound 4x4 truck after all, it just turns rear tires to smoke when I nail it ?
I have everything to add a second turbo to the other side of the engine, boost wouldn't increase much, 20psi or so, but would be available at a much higher RPM range than the 5200 I am limited to currently, the engine is capable of 7500+ RPM.
