That's utterly ridiculous and quite frankly unexcusable. You pay for power. I'm sure they aren't going to dock themselves for their non-service off of next month's bill. A matter of fact I know they won't sense power is a legal monopoly. I'd be raising hell at this point. I don't have a wood stove or a fire place so my dogs and I would be sitting in the cold. I hope you at least have another means to warm you and your?

Lucky I had heat, wood works just fine without power, how they missed it I don't really understand myself, but with 250k+ without power due to the storm yesterday I can see how it's possible to get in a hurry and miss something.

Damn, that must have been some storm! Well at least you have heat. Hopefully they get your power up soon.

It was something alright, 30-50mph winds, 3+ inches of rain with some snow mixed in for good measure, all after a week of mid 70s weather too.

And the fuse replacement got the power one so it's all good here now (y)
5625 TBH, with 250k+ without power I actually expected the weather conditions to be even worse than that. Then again the weather in my neck of the woods is so temperamental sometimes that our grid might just be a little more prepared for such weather.

But hurray for power! I'm definitely glad it's back on for you. I'm so accustomed to electricity that I'd probably go as mad as a hatter if I went that long without it! Lol

I was about to lose my mind honestly, could have fired up the generator here as well but the large one running down at my mom's was already driving me crazy, loud assed diesel ?

The power grid here is pretty much shit, and we lost a lot of trees during the storm.

I think the longest I've been without power was for 6 or 7 hours. It was in the middle of summer too, which is scary for me because my newfie and a warm climate do not mix well at all. It almost got to the point where I was going to have to take my girls to my car to cool them down.

Even 6 or 7 hours was way too long for me! I'd have been severely bored if I wasn't worried about my girl.

5629 Heh, I'd imagine! I know the cold weather brings out the cuddle spirit in most doggos! I wonder if it's because in the wild dogs and wolves naturally want to conserve calories due to limited food resources in the winter. A good way to conserve energy is to cuddle for warmth. Even though most domestic canines get as much food as needed, I could see cuddling as a left over adaptation from their wild counterparts.
