Connection between furries and zoo?

Personally, I've always been attracted to male k9's, but the furry community definitely pushed me in this direction. How about ya'll?

i was definitely a furry before i discovered my connections to being zoo, but i don’t think those two things are as related as one might initially think. i tend to treat both things as separate, for example with anthros in artwork i get turned on by males and males only (same with humans) but with animals it’s mostly females. but perhaps being a furry played at least some minimal influence in making it easier to realize that i was zoo

Well, I think that there is definitely a connection between furries and zoos.
I was into furry RP long before I felt my sexual attraction for animals and long before I could understand both worlds.
So... I won't say that all furries are zoos, but I would say that for many zoos being a furry it's a preparatory phase into accepting their true sexuality...

My transition is a little bit different.
I realized that I was a zoo at about 12 years of age. I‘ve got my first action with 16 years, and after some traumatic experiences (stable owner sending horses to the slaughter house etc), I transitioned after a long year pause to the furry fandom.
I am definitely not in the centre of the fandom, but I got some friends there and a several years lasting relationship with another furry who „just licked the edge of the fandom“.

I was a zoo first, and a year or 2 later found myself seeing anthro cartoon characters in the same light as animals. Almost seemed like a better outlet to my perverted thoughts at the time (maybe at that time it was). Hormones were doing strange things to me. Now I just like the fantasy world it helps me to escape to. The p0rn helps too. ?

I was a zoo first. I "joined" the fandom in 2016 and have seen nothing but anti-zoo propaganda and hate. Especially by furry youtubers. These people obviously are confused with zoophilia and zoo-sadism. Two terms which they believe to be synonymous, which is obviously a lie. ( @DaneLover1 you need to see these)

Just an excuse, in my opinion. Many furries are also zoophiles, but, since they are always under the spotlights they can't be honest about that and have to be the worse of anti zoos to cover themselves. That's... disappointing, but humans are disappointing in general...

I tend to agree that many furries are also closeted zoos. Dressing as an animal, and especially murrsuiters who have animal like genitalia and dildos such as a horse cock or a knot, I feel like that’s their way of expressing/rationalizing it without “crossing that line” in their mind. Or they are active zoos and just keep quiet about it in order to not be a target within the fandom. I personally started as a zoo when I was 12/13, became a pup, who then became a furry.

I definitely agree that zoos tend to hide under the guise of the furry fandom. That being said it's easier to fantasize about dogs and other animals under a furry setting. Not as many red flags to say that your prefer knots to human shaped dicks when talking about art.

I found the furry fandom first before establishing a connect between feral art and my fascination with anthro/feral stories. From there beast forum showed me how great the community is and even though a loud minority likes to claim abuse, we tend to call out those who are actual abusers of animals.

I was a zoo & therian first, then furry later. It was a lot more chill & tolerant for zoofurs back in the day so I could explore fairly easily. Kinda sad how much its changed.

for me furries lead me to zoo stuff. Started as a 'what the heck is this?' to 'that's cute' to 'that's hot' to 'that's hot, I wonder...' to 'well, now I'm here.'

The furry community is all about hate and gatekeeping now. If they find out a furry is a zoo, I've seen them contact their job and try to get them fired.... They ruined a vets life.

From my experience on discord hentai boards, I've found many furries that also like bestiality or at least find it interesting or respect your preference.

It's gotten hella bad in the last like 5 years! it was NEVER this bad in the old days (been a zoo and fur since like...1999) you need to be SO careful now as the cancel culture is rampant.
I really feel this! I remember back in the 90s and early 2000s, you could just walk your intact great dane through the hotel lobby and everyone would just kind of chuckle because they knew exactly what that meant. I can't believe how bad it's gotten.

Kinda wasn't into animals, more of a, if I can't marry a man, I'll just marry a woman and have a dog fuck me. My teenage mind was kinda crazy like that, but possibly because I was into furry stuff. Didn't identify as one yet, but saw plenty of photos.

Hard to say for me. Because i knew I was a zoo basically from puberty. Where as I didn't stumble into the furry community until around 2000. Several years after my first few interactions with dogs.

However... I can distinctly remember having a crush on Maid Marrion (the anthro fox from Disney's version of Robin Hood) I was also obsessed with a few anthros in Saturday morning cartoons. 30/30 from Brave Star. The Thunder Cats. Even Calvin and Hobbes... though that more like whinnie the pooh. Stuffed animal brought to life by imagination.

Yeah, I have been looking into furry dating sites and furry meet up sites, furry discords and furry telegram stuff, and it's like, I see it all the time.
When you see this crazy ass drama right off the bat and the button be like "Join this group" I'm like that's a big nope.

I was a furry long before finding out that I was a zoo, funny enough it was a furry who introduced me to this part of me.

I be longer a Zoo as an Furry, i don't talk about over my Zoolife in the Fandom. Sometimes it is really hard to see how great the hate about the Zoos in the Fandom is. And the hate in me grows up ever and ever i see it on Twitter. Yesterday at the furmeet how i was i trying the first trys to talk about Zoo, this was a horrible experience.

I find the line between Furries and Zoophiles very narrow and very cringe. I see people fantasize about drawings of huge animal cocks but to say that someone can feel this thing for real animals disgusts him, I don't get it. this line makes me even more uncomfortable when the drawings really represent only zoophilic fantasies..

Same, even weirder is the fact that main stream online and offline stores carry animal shaped dildos, and yet the people buying them who "really love the thought of being taken by a werewolf or horse"...... also be like "but actually doing it with an animal is disgusting..."
I feel like there are TONS of people who are in the closet (barn?) about it, and just afraid of what society will think of them...
And with good reason, as even in the furry world (Which mind you is saturated with zoos) they will all freak out and overly openly hate on you if you mention that you are zoo, and it becomes a witch hunt, with HORDES of people trying to contact authorities and plastering your name all over the televerse with hate and even threats of violence....
WTF is that all about?
Literally over half the furries I know will talk about zoo stuff and fantasies when you get them alone, but the moment they are in groups they shut up or side with the anti zoos....
It reminds me of highschool with the gay students, how they would be hyper vocal about "fags" and how they would disassociate with anyone the rest of the school said was gay.... only to talk about how they love the cock later on one on one conversation... And would side with the jocks and assholes the moment they were in a group...
I don't understand why people are like this.

Most furry groups I have been have been stereotypically about sex and what animal cock they'd like inside them. But don't even dare to say you want to fuck a pokemon or an animated, sentient feral because you're a monster (even more if the feral is female, for some reason). It almost seems planned in a sense because someone will always randomly bring up that e6 should crack down on zoo and stuff. It feels like bait tbh, to get someone to say "No, bro. It's just a drawing, get over it" so they can gang up on someone's and bully that person. But then you hear them complain about people not accepting them as furries if they are all "sugar, spice, and everything nice". Bullshit, I tell you. I am a furry and even so I had quit groups altogether because of that predatory attitude they have when someone doesn't agree with the mindset of the majority in any way (political, societal, and even tastes in porn). But again, MAYBE I had bad experiences. I know not all furries are like that, heck, not even most of them. But groups just bring up the worst of the already bad and bitter apples. Especially since those group are made of more "mainstream" furs. But eh, I am reading myself like an old man and I have yet to reach 30 lol

Zoo came bevore furry. And I was never that mutch into being a fur. Today I do not consider myself as furry, tho I still wisit furbase and furaffinity from time to time. But I do not visit cons anymore.

I know right? i remember this kind of arguing taking place in many sites. And it's sorta hipocrital if you think about it. But well, i respect people's POV's and i know many have their reasons to dislike certain things, but when they just speak for others or well try only to judge and not give a reason of why they think the way they think... it makes you wonder what's through their minds.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But then, talking about the topic, i don't think they really have a connection as the focus is nos the certain anatomy features, but the whole concept... but then again, then the whole term furry became more and more wide and they didn't only focus on anthros, but ferals as well, and then the whole idea got it's strike on people.

I really do think there's not a connection between the two concepts as they focus on different stuff, zoo is pretty much sex-related and furries may be or not be sexual and they've got the focus on the characters than the sexual aspect, but then again, we're on the internet, right? porn is certainly everywhere as it sells, it draws attention, so it'll be almost everywhere in the cyberspace as long as it's allowed, which makes that it's pretty much common to relate Furry = Porn and since furries's nature is "weird" to many, it only ends up being "weird porn" and it's understandable most people only get that "part" of the whole thing, and as zoo is pretty much sexual they can get confused, yup.

Ps: I know that zoo is a more "deep" term and that it can have love, feelings, etc, but to come clearly, the most "defining" aspect at least to many people that "don't empathise" with us is only the sexual aspect
