Except... Alabai "Alabay" IS the same dog as a Central Asian Shepherd. Or was that comma meant to mean you were speaking of the same breed?

No Alabai not Alabay is not the same as CAO.
But many people cannot tell the difference.

I could not when i was researching these breeds and would argue they are the same.
If been educated by couple of breeders of both.

I would like to hear your reasoning for why they are different, because I am in direct contact with a handful of breeders that would argue otherwise. The closest I can come up with is that specific breeders from different regions like to claim that lineages from anywhere outside their own are "flawed" therefore a different breed.
I personally have never dealt with them hands on. So I'm up to learn something new.

Definitely won't be that big, I had a female Kangal and she came in at 45kg like she was big but no where near the size they make you think they are

Really? My family owned 2 kangals, the bitch was about 50kg and the male closer to 80, which breed of kangal was it?
