I can understand that. Not many original numbers matching cars around. The one we have isn't original. So swapping it won't hurt anything. I'm hoping he does. Because then it will have air conditioning!!! LOLIf I didn't have so many 440s I'd likely do the same with my Charger, but I just can't bring myself to do it do a correct 440 powered car, if it would have been a small block there's no doubt about it being a late Hemi powered swap like I want to do with a A-body Barracuda.
Mine isn't numbers matching unfortunately, the original 440 had been replaced with a 400 when I got it, but the 4spd and everything else is still correct, luckily I had a 440 out of a police car the same year so it's close enough for me.I can understand that. Exactly right. We would never own a trailer queen. Hubby says if he can't drive it, he doesn't want it.Mine isn't numbers matching unfortunately, the original 440 had been replaced with a 400 when I got it, but the 4spd and everything else is still correct, luckily I had a 440 out of a police car the same year so it's close enough for me.
And it's a highly optioned car as well, the original owner ordered it with nearly every option available, including A/C and the Rallye package.
Building one the way you want is the way to go in my opinion, unless it's something special to begin with why not, cars are meant to be used and enjoyed after all.
