I'm curious as to everyone's preference for their choice of water-based lubrication. I was looking online and kept seeing different brands with various reports of harmful chemicals and got curious as to the safest yet most effective brands.

Some use astroglide, I believe that is water based. Can't remember the other one that I have but it was something that's used by vets I believe.
The main ones you should look for are ones that are not scented, not for "external use" or "do not ingest"
There's also Durex play.

I was looking online like I said and there was a whole list of some on several websites that tried going too much into detail with it. Some had people hyping up some chems (Paraben I think) saying "it causes ED" others saying that specific lubes are mixing organic alcohol into the lubes or changing formulas. So, I was just looking for a simple water-based lube that was safe to use. I tend to stay away from scented, heating, massage, etc. lubes anyway.

I typically just use Astroglide with my girl. The only issues are that it can potentially cause dryness as well as high osmolality in rare cases. For most people, or in this case canines, it's safe to use.

Many zoos also use J-Lube or a.k.a. the "vet lube." I've considered using this in the past due to how cheap it is, but the main thing that turns me away is the high sucrose levels in the lube itself. This has the potential to throw off a female canines pH balance and in high enough concentration may cause infections. But, I have heard of plenty of zoos using it, and many zoos absolutely swear by it as well.

All in all, I don't think there's a "perfect" water based lube. Every one of them has their positives and potential drawbacks. If you're curious about a lube research (X brand) and see if women have reported problems from it. Besides canines having a slightly higher pH on average, most things that are applicable for a human vagina is generally also applicable for a canine vagina. Besides a slightly different configuration, they share almost all the same parts.

What about the use of Glycerin in the formula? Does that pose a risk?

Sliquid markets itself specifically as a "lubricant for woman", meaning it's "100%" vaginal safe. Many brands of waterbased lubes use sugars and other organic polymers, which can breed yeast infections. Sliquid doesn't use any such bases and therefore calls itself 100% safe.

They even have different formulas specifically designed for people who experience different lube related problems.

Preparing to move to the next level. I'm a male. Though I'm sure this has been covered, does the group find it necessary to use lubricant when engaging in anal sex with a male dog? Is there a recommended lube?

Please press ctrl+f and type lube.

What lubes are safe to use with dogs? When receiving anal I prefer to use a silicon based lube as it feels more slick, and lubricates for longer.

I make lubricants for me and my wife that are water based and hypoallergenic.

Try methyl cellulose.

It's the active ingredient in a lube called "sex grease." We found it at Spencer's years ago and it was great for fisting.

Really easy to make with only two ingredients.

Stick with water based lubes. If you're cheap^H^H^H^H^H err, frugal, you can buy J-Lube and the like as a powder and mix up a batch as you need it. While you can just shake a bit onto a wet hand, I process it in batches. It has a tendency to clump and does not quickly disolve, so stirring/shaking as powder is added helps.

I mix at a ratio of 6g/125ml final volume, but I start at double the volume of water (250ml) and heat it until half the volume is dissipated, leaving me with the 6g/125ml. I note that I use a hotplate with a stirrer, which greatly simplifies the process.

Edit: One 10 ounce bottle of J-lube should make around 47 batches as described above. I bought a bottle several years ago and am still working my way through it. For those unfamiliar with metric, 125ml is a tad over 1/2 cup. Amusingly, I've saved enough in lube costs to pay for my hotplate/stirrer at least twice. :p

Edit again: I heat to around 70-80C/160-175F and allow it to slowly evaporate down to half volume which can take a couple of hours.

Hey everyone, just curious what lube you use when having anal sex with a k9? Ive got a bunch of toys but most of them i use with coconut oil for longevity, or water-based lube for a better feeling in the short term, but no idea what i should use for when my border collie finally fucks me

I'm not typically receiving anal, but water based lubes are typically preferred for safety as various oils can cause upset or problems if ingested.
For those with patience or a nice stirring hotplate, the powdered J-Lube and other powder surgical lubes can save a lot of money. I bought a bottle some years ago and still haven't used it all.
Current recipie I use is 12g per 250ml of water, initially I start with 500ml water and let it evaporate down to 250ml.

Might not work enough for everyone, but I never had to use lube for anal sex with my dog. He was naturally lubricated well enough. I just did some cleaning beforehand. But if you need to use one, you should probably stay away from silicone base ones.

KY is my lube of choice.
Its water based water soluble, and smells and tastes of nothing so you get to play without affecting any of your senses

Mmmmm, several alternatives that had not crossed my mind...Thanks for sharing them....
