Any retro anime nerds here?

I loved watching Digimon and Sailor Moon when I was a wee lad. Read the Dragon Ball manga when I was quite young too! Still keeping up with modern releases too, although not as voraciously as I did in my teens. I'm a bit more discerning in my tastes hah
 
I watched some anime as a kid (inuyasha, yu yu Hakusho, card captor sakura) and tried watching them again recently but they are so slow in the beginning and just don't match the pacing we are now accustomed to.
 
God I remember watching Macross when I was younger, that scene where the pilot shot down an enemy alien craft and he lands his ship and gets out with his gun in hand expecting to fight this supposed alien only to find out that they were all massive giants, that scene still gives me goosebumps
 
Yeah a lot of the new anime does not catch my interest too much. I love classics like DBZ, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Negima, Love Hina and such.
 
The only “retro anime” I’ve really watched has been Dragon Ball. Aside from that I can’t think of any others. It’s kind of difficult for me to get into the more retro style animation. The modern ones look pretty sick.
 
I really Love Dragon ball still watch it till this day and pokemon i mainly play the games now the show haven't caught up got boring along time ago just my point of view

Same. I am currently in a Pokemon, digimon, dragon ball (not dbz) phase of the 90s. Although newer stuff like one piece, bleach, Inuyasha, full metal, and Naruto are good imo. When I say newer I mean 2000s and 2010s, not new new.
 
Guilty! But i am about to admit a grave sin... I always hates the mecha animes... I remember rushing home to catch DBZ on Toonami ages ago! I kind of fell off that wagen when Toonami moved to Adult Swim. Ive never been a real big fan of staying up late.
 
I don’t know if these count but Samurai Shamploo, the original Ghost in the Shell, Trigun. I still have a huge soft spot for those ones.

I tried watching the newest iteration on Netflix and I just can’t get into it. I’ll stick with the original :)

? I dumped Netflix. Sadly it seemed like they were not getting anything new... But it was around the time they released the first season of Altered Carbon. Good show! Good show!

Altered Carbon was great. They also have Arcane, and that one is pretty good too.
