Get a doggo , care for him from pup if you can and built that relationship. I can tell you things you have garantied , someone who wont ever judge you , someone who will ALWAYS love you (it is said that dogs love even a mean and cruel owner) you will have less free time , you will be always tied to a pet so cant go certain places etc, depending on your living situation extra complications, and yes in the future you will h ave a dreaded moment when u have to say goodbye. But all the things you are jealous of are inbetween. I havent talked about sex because that is a small (delicious but small) cherry on the top it should never ever be your focus in getting any kind of animal.

Unfortunately my husband doesn't want a dog and I don't know how to get around that. Besides, even if he agreed, we have two daughters, so I would be too nervous having an active puppy around them. Other than that, I would get a doggo in a second.

Well the husband thing is something u and him can and need to discuss. The daughters if u mean ure worried u get seen by them well in ypur bedroom behind looked doors..., a friendly dog wont harm them and just because he might get action with you he wont jump them so dont see the worrie
