Wife tried to get mounted

Ok so we gave it the college try tonight and our 1yr old male gsd wouldn't mount. He was more than interested in licking and what not but had no interest in mounting her. I will mention that he has no issue mounting other dogs and has that more than down.

Do you all have any suggestions as well feel somewhat deflated after waiting until we thought he was ready. We won't force him into anything so is it possible he may just not be into her?

I think you just have to keep trying, that boy has to learn to, maybe try to jack him a bit and guide his way, ofcourse not forcing anything but he has to learn to.

Could try to be really playful with him that also could help him to get in the mood

If he's only a year old then he has no clue of what is expected of him.

He's just simply too young.

This...plus
What gave you the idea that his mounting other dogs was the sign from On High? Puppies of four weeks mount their sibs regularly....its play dominance...and it has little to do with sex. When your dog is marking territory, and lifting a leg to do it consistently is time enough. Regardless of what the wannas tell you...not all dogs will be interested even at maturity..." jacking " isnt going to help and might hurt. Patience is everything in this endeavor. Renegade knows his stuff...I know my stuff...and there ARE others here who do. The real-deal folks will not steer you into pushing the critter. Real-dealers won't push YOU either. Give it the time the dog deserves...hes a family member now...even if he doesnt perform. Respect that, and play the long game.

.

Sorry iff i made it feel i whas trying to push him, that wasn't ment thad way, absolutely not.

You are right in al ways, my boy whas getting active with slightly more than 1 year and lifting his leg constantly, i do also know that some dog's need more time to get mature.

I whas not trying to push at any means, and I'm sorry iff someone did feel that way .

Just take your time and don't try to force him. It comes with a sense of trust between him and the woman. It can take a while to bond but it's worth the wait
