Why do dogs hump? And what? ?

I really have no clue on this level of dog personality

-Why do dogs do this?
-Is it it their natural instinct to hump things? Or mate?
-You push them away, but why do they continue? (is this one like a guy trying to git sum after buying
her dinner? ?)
-Are they aware of the fact that at times they try to mate the wrong thing?


Ok.
So, obiously this dog has mating experience the way he handled that leg. A human pushes him away but he continues and is destined to succeed.

-Does this indicate he is familiar with the situation and knows the end result if he pushes (knot)?
-Would that necessarily mean he has experience with that chick in the video... Or with another human close by?

I believe that it is just an instinct. I have seen dogs hump all kinds of things including their dog house. Just because they grab onto a human leg and begin to hump doesn't mean that they have ever had sex with that human. But if you would like to think so then go right ahead.
