Why cant humans/dogs swap lifespans?

Dogs deserve our lifespans more then us. They are the definition of loyalty so why cant they live a longer life like they deserve. I swear everytime i see a deceased k9 by bodily failure whos a great partner. Im like why the hell dont they get the honor of living a long time as they deserve

I feel like it would be a lot worse if it was swapped. We all love our dogs and are super attached to them. And it’s crushing when we lose one. But most people eventually get another dog. That’s not to say we weren’t loyal or attached to the dog that has passed, not that at all. Everyone had their own reasons for getting another dog after one had passed, where it’s to fill the hole that was created or to distract oneself. Whatever it may be, we unfortunately move on. We never forget, but we move on.

If our lifespans were swapped, I feel like it’d be a LOT harder for a dog to move on. They are so loyal and faithful to their owners, losing their owner is like losing their whole world. More than their whole world. Imagine them having to go through that every 10 or so years. We humans deal with the the loss of loved ones very poorly. And us zoos deal with the loss of our furry partners even worse. I can only imagine a dog would take it even harder than us.

But I guess we’ll never know. I’ve get to lose one of my pups but it scares me to death and I give myself frequent panic attacks thinking about it.
