what kept you from discovering and trying stuff yourself? i mean, sexuality isn't really something you'd need an okay from strangers to explore...
i spent my teens believing i'm the only one "like this" (as no doubt many others) and it didn't keep me from anything.

It does help to know you are not alone. It provides a relief and it may provide information that helps you avoid making mistakes.
But zoo sites have been on the internet for a very long time. I am pretty sure there were some even in the era of BBS.

I was in the BForum group a while back but it seemed more kink oriented and less like a community of non judgementals with a ton of useful info. Well... If I'm being honest, I might've just stumbled into a couple bad discussions and then had real life happen, so I got outta the scene without really looking around so much. I actually found this site after searching and finding out BF shut down years ago. I really like the emphasis on anonymity and encryption here. Couple extra steps but well worth the time, especially with things are changing everywhere. I don't remember many other dedicated forums, just a few sites where maybe a couple people started a thread that was part of a much more diverse crowd... touch n go knowing you were talking to a like minded individual.
