When did you first realize you were a Furry/What does being a Furry mean to you?

I was into zoo before furry stuff. It kind of started as a kink for monsters. As some point I was looking for new stuff and came across this webpage that did porn games. The game that kind of clicked it all together was call “Lugia the sex god” a Pokémon game about the legendary Pokémon with the same name who was releasing tension among an island. It was technically an unfinished game that needed to be translated. Never got to see past the fish section. Because of that I search the internet and found e621.

I never really considered myself a furry do to the stigma and actually stopped searching for the porn. That was until I met “A”, a girl I met in high school who actually broke out her comfort zone to show me some art she liked of some Furrys. She asked me in English class and I kind of just froze because I was afraid of her telling everyone I was a furry or some shit. She got embarrassed and dismissed it like it was stupid. But she’s the reason I was confident enough to start in the community. I tried talking to her on the subject again but she was defensive about it so I never pushed it again. I had the biggest crush on her but she was dating someone at the time.

Lol this is so dumb but “A” if you see this I’d love to reconnect, i don’t play LOL anymore but maybe id let you play adc and I’ll be support this time. You never know right lol

as a kid it started with horse in the stable. loved taurinfox, was my intro to porn i'm pretty sure. the memories are a bit hazy, but yeah.

i consider a furry to be a furry if they say they are a furry. too many definitions
 
The first sexual content that I saw was a documentary about horses on NatGeo. It showed mating and I started fantasing about horses. Later than I saw the semen collecting procedure on animal planet so that doesnt helped me to forget about horses. Later on when i get near to the internet, the first thing that I did were always search horse mating content on youtube. When we also get access to the internet at home, somehow I found digimon related furry art and just got lost in them, started to search for more and since then, i watching horses mating and also furry stuff.
In this days Im trying to cut the porn from my life because I feel that its wrong for me. It has been too much and my motivation lost in everithing else. I mean that if you stimulates your brain the "easy way" too much, you wont find the things of life revarding enough to do them...

For me, Im personally not a true "Furry" in real life. I don't see the appeal in me wearing a fursuit or behaving a certain way. I just really enjoy the art. I like anthros, i think anthro worlds are cool. The same way we have human main characters in stories, I think its just as cool to have anthros as main characters in their own world. So for me i always liked the art and the storytelling (if your into roleplaying as such anthro) but besides that in the real world i have no defining ties to being a TRUE "Furry". Lol thanks for input, that pretty much sounds like where I stand.
 
The first time was in my early school days, escaping from reality and I wanted to be a fox. Because a fox don’t have to go to school xD
And foxes are beautiful animals <3

So it starts, in this time I don’t even know that furries exists, but I was on my way to become a furry myself. The NSFW art helped me a lot in this time.
Many many years later I finally live that furry lifestyle, conventions, meetups, fursuit, the whole stuff.
But I’m not happy, like most furries that I know.
 
I always liked more the anthro girls in cartoons than the human ones lol. But what kicked the button was Undertale for some reason. And no, it wasn't Toriel but the idea of a world with anthro creatures. Saw some pretty good fursonas since then. Then I met e6 and the rest is history. I still prefer ferals tho, especially pokemon!
 
For me being a furry is kind of the ultimate representation of all my sexual desires mixed together. I find animals and humans attractive and don’t even really see them as different in my mind, but truthfully I do usually find humans/anthros more appealing than ferals/animals, (I usually think irl animals are way too skinny/non muscular for my taste). It really helped me understand who I was. A mostly gay and somewhat zoophilic dude who just wants to find that special someone.
 
I’m still trying to figure it out. Lol. I don’t do the dressing up in suits or anything like that bc it doesn’t interest me. I do however, find certain anthro characters attractive but also the cartoon stuff in general. I think I’m probably both furry and zoo but I know furry is so broad so I’m not sure to what extent of it I am
 
I dunno really I just came across furry porn and loved it! Was a very confusing time for me. That’s when I questioned being a zoo
