No. I live in SW Florida and I am at a dead end and I need to start over. And after 30 plus years I am tired of 90 plus degree heat and high humidity for 8 to 9 month out of the year and had enough with dealing with hurricane. I as so grew up in Minnesota and northern Wisconsin and don't want to deal with the cold winters. I have to start over any ways and don't want it to be here or in the and West Virginia looks to be more in between has far as the heat and cold go's so I have been thinking why not. Their are others factors involved to but the heat in Fl and cold in Min/Wis are the main reasons I been thinking West Virginia.

Oh I see, man I'm sorry to hear that you have to start over. Hopefully it all goes to plan. I live in South Africa so we've got tropical weather all year round. The coldest it gets here is only just cold enough to put a jacket on over your t-shirt. But sometimes it gets so hot you want to skin yourself and jump into your freezer.

It's somewhat the same here a few days maybe week with a light jacket and I have actually jump into freezer to cool off.
 
Get further along in terms of fully self sufficient, solar water well, enough solar to run the house and the hydroponics. Expand the list of food I grow myself, maybe even get some tropical crops growing in a dug in greenhouse, would be interesting if I can grow my own coffee but I don't have the elevation to grow really good coffee. Maybe get really wild and try my hand at aquaponics.

ever thought about a methan collector compost so u can produce ur own gas for cooking? =)

I own 150+ acres of woods, I'll convert the wood fire place to a cooking hearth eventually, I'm going to do an outdoor wood pizza oven to complement my barbecue as well, the gas stove in my kitchen is a luxury I am unwilling to part with ? but I doubt my meager compost pile would produce enough to power it.

You're living my dream! Although I'm not so keen on 12 hours of daily manual labour I would love to be on a huge property miles away from the nearest person. Just myself, my animals and the land.
