What are your Thoughts on the Corona Virus infecting animals?

so ive been reading articles about animals getting infected by Covid 19 and im wandering what is it called when animals & humans get infected at a global scale
and it makes me wonder can we receive and give covid 19? and if that's true ?

my simple thought is this how many times in history has this happened?
any thoughts or opinions appreciated

the disease came initialy from bats so transmition is possible
