Dogs are instinctive breeders so I think they prefer to fill and knot a vagina. That being said, I also don't think they are very picky lol
 
scientifically speaking, a butthole since unlike a vagina it can hold a tie. realistically speaking, i highly doubt they have a preference. an average dog gets so little action (a. heat cycles being fairly scarce, b. some owners will literally never allow them to mate) i don't think he'd be picky where he gets to plant it.
tho i do sometimes wonder if my boy ever realizes how nice he has it, he had two years of blue balls before i adopted him. he can just ask whenever horny strikes him.
 
The dogs situational feeling in that situation should count: "If the male dog has experience with knotting - does he like to be bound in place or does he dislike it?" as not all male dogs seem to like it from my experience. Many do, tho.

Comparable to how not all male humans actually like to get licked or stimulated after / while their orgasm occurs.

If a male dog likes to get locked in place and somewhat stimulated through muscular activity, then a canids vagina is even stronger (more muscular over length) than a human's anus. Compared to a female humans vagina both alternatives win in terms of "knot locking ability".
 
I think the term "every hole is a goal" applies even more to dogs than us lol. I doubt they have a preference and even if they did how would you go about measuring it? :unsure:
 
In my experience, it doesn't really matter for the dog, so I doubt they have a real preference. For the bitch though, it might be very important to let the owner know which hole is off limits or not.

I've had bitches that unexpectedly got it in their ass when breeding and that wasn't the best of experiences, so since that encounter I happen to always ask upfront and do everything I can to comply with their choice. I've also had one bitch that - after a breeding - simply stated "oh, he was fucking me in the ass for a bit there" but she didn't mind at all, and one bitch only wanted it in her ass because her pussy was reserved for human partners.

That didn't help any of us on determining what dogs preferences are now, did it? Sorry ?

I don't think that dogs are able to choose between one or another, but I'd dare to say that they have a "stronger" knotting experience fucking an asshole.
 
Sine I am a male I would like to think they prefer being in an ass over a vagina, but honestly they probably don’t care.
 
I know I prefer to see vaginal, and I would like to think that would be more fun for them. On the other hand asshole can be just as good, as long as you prepped for it.
 
I don’t have a vagina so I can’t really say for sure but I would think that dogs would prefer a clean empty ass over a vagina seeing as how a human asshole is closer to a dogs vagina than a human vagina is and is more likely to hold a tie. Although I think they would prefer a vagina over a dirty ass with shit in it. Not only does shit make the ride less smooth and thus a little more uncomfortable and less pleasurable for the dog, it also stinks and with a dogs powerful sense of smell I think most dogs can tell and are less likely to go for it.
