Hi all. I'm finally making moves to adopt another dog. I haven't had one in years and didn't really train him as well as I should have. I'd like my new pup and potential lover to be a gentleman. So my question is, any book/video/site recommendations to learn how to train dogs? Nothing with negative reinforcement. Any pointers would be awesome thanks

There are heaps and tons of really fantastic material everywhere these days. In a nutshell, positive reinforcement training is what you want to do with your puppers.

There is a really useful book I have read years ago which I totally recommend by Pinkwaters: Superpuppy (Year 2002, a bit old yes but still a really good read!)

I would like to learn to train a dog when I get one. I guess one of my most worries is the dog cock hanging out in public.

Zoos do not train animals for sex. Ever.
As for the cock in the public, that is practically impossible unless you jerk him off in the public yourself.

Thanks for bringing that up. I'm also planning to get a pup in the (hopefully near) future, and have been pondering issues of training him to coexist well with us humans.
