I can imagine that inexperienced bottoms can get injured by their mates often. Lube is an essential for anal, but it’s an essential a lot of people forget about caught up in lust. Add that to the fact that animals are generally a lot larger than humans and typically don’t understand our need for lube and… yeah pain and injury can happen. Personally, I've always found that lube (and even more, the so-often repeated "use a dildo to stretch yourself out first" advice - quite possibly the absolute WORST advice I've EVER encountered in the online world - Sensible if you're trying to take a horse, but utterly fucking insane for a dog-bottom by my lights) when bottoming for a dog is a bad idea - Both promote "fully-engorged knot pullouts", and those are no kind of fun at all. I'd agree with forgoing lube when bottoming for dogs... They make plenty of lube on their own and their cocks are pretty slippery going in. Too much lube just makes it easier for a knot to pull out as I can attest from personal experience. However, stretching with a dildo can be helpful to prep your colon for a long cock. Sometimes getting that inner sphincter open and ready can eliminate a lot of pain if your boy is particularly lengthy. In my experience getting fucked and knotted by a dog is generally much less painful than getting fucked.by a human of comparable dick size, especially when getting fucked doggie style. I have never bothered with any lube with a dog partner since they produce plenty of their own. The only thing I ever had issue with was getting my back scratched up a bit but that's easily prevented by wearing a sweatshirt or something.
