There is something EXTREMELY wrong with a site that won’t allow you to delete your posts

Why is it? You can’t delete your own post in this group? That seems a little suspicious to me. Can anybody explain that?

You can after you reach a certain post count level. I'm not sure what it is exactly. Maybe 150.

Id say its for the better, at least for people who havent posted much, as if they post something bad they can be banned, but if they really wanted their posts deleted, you can request for it I believe.

Its quite simple....even a neanderthal ought to get it.....If a miscreant gets to behaving badly, and someone reports him, the post record is evidence of the truth or the falsehood of such an accusation. And even if the bad actor is banned, the mods will not erase the posts. The site security is as important as yours is, and it means the safety of 200,000 PLUS "yous"....Alle ist klar, Herr Commissar?

And how often does that really apply, as opposed to somebody drunk posting and waking up realizing they wouldn’t have posted if they were sober, for example? I’m sure most people at some point have removed posts on social media that they regretted or figured it wasn’t a good idea after all.

actually, this seems like both a think before you post, and a cloudflare thingy. to be fair, there is nothing sketch about the site or its features. whats sketch is how some GPT bots might get through. i believe the site should have a dark web mirror just in case too.

Don't be a drunk loser, seems a very easy thing to achieve! they put them selfs in that position by their own free will, may they enjoy the consequences as much as they did the alcohol.

You apparently have no idea how often that sort of trash happens. I do.

Bud...if YOU screwed up up, and you cant talk your way out of it, ask a mod for help. They might take pity on a fool, or a drunk.. But complaining first with complaints like yours is akin to buying that house on runway number seven, and then complaining about jet noise. No sympathy for self-inflicted wounds, asked or given

Because of shit like this?

That one is fresh, just within the past hour. Clown got called out, immediately by @Mare Lover 1975 who posted a deleted previous post to point out it was all fake.........then the clown edited their post comepletely away and just left it with the word Lame as the 1st post.

Mare then unedited it for them.

Long story short, you can delete your own posts, once you've earned the right to do so by not being a fucking clown and being here long enough to hit the preset post count allowing that.

If you want a post removed simply report it and it will be deleted, but if you posted something that is against the rules being able to delete it yourself wouldn't help.

But you can't delete threads you have made, only edit the first post, deleting a thread requires being a moderator or administrator.

Yes. I know that.

Best us pleebs can do is zero it out, the first post anyway......and I think the title too? But, if anyone has already posted after you, that stays, as will whatever the thread creator originally posted in the 1st post, if anyone has quoted it.
