The length of shaft behind the knot

I love to know if anyone else observed or experienced how the length of the shaft behind the knot affects the ability for a dog to make a good tie.
My experience with different dogs is that dogs with a good length of shaft behind the knot ties both easier and deeper with me and also makes it esay for the dog to turn on me. This might be something that is obvious to many but i like to know if any other experienced this or made that observation.

The more back shaft, the farther he can get in, the more room there is for the knot to expand the more comfortable it is , less pulling on the opening with it farther in makes for more comfortable turning.

If he's going to turn, he needs enough length to leave room for his nuts between you. Without that he will pull out.

Yeah that is my experince too.. When they get unfomfortable they tend to pull out and often too soon and that hurts.
