Still looking for my first female dog to play with. Not sure what breed to get but leaning towards a lab since I have had a few of them over my lifetime. I am having trouble finding an intact adult female. Seems most if not all of the places you can adopt one have already spayed them. Any advice on where I might be able to find an intact female?

Best ways to get an intact dog are:
1. Get a puppy. Only do this if you have the time and patience to commit to them, obviously. And you'll have to wait over a year for the pup to sexually mature before you can try anything. Keep in mind that some breeders will have spay/neuter requirements in the sale contract so watch out for that.
2. Rehome an adult dog from the owner, not a shelter. There's a few sites where people post ads to rehome their dogs. Craigslist is a good one. Keep in mind that people may lie about their dog being intact.

Come on bud, that's a little unfair. He didn't say he wanted a dog for sex and nothing else. I checked his post history and he made another thread where he said he wanted a dog as a "companion first."
I am not looking for a dog just for sex. I have had many dogs in my lifetime and other the one thing I mentioned in my other thread have never done anything sexual with them. The dog I am looking for now is for companionship first. I am also 58 years old with 5 grand kids and after i know what the female is like I would like to get her bred so the grandkids could pick a puppy out of the litter. I personally want a puppy because I dont want to go through all the puppy stuff again. If anything the sex is just an after thought although I thought at my age I didnt want to get another dog. After watching some of the content on here and a few other sites I have reconsidered that.
