So you can abuse them, hold them in place, rape them, etc, as long as they don't need to go to the vet for physical injuries? Why do laws have no actual thought put into them?

That's a great point you make. At least the general idea was there, that animals shouldn't get hurt in the process. But yeah that doesn't cover any situations of restraining or rape.
