Signs of orgasm

I'm curious about how animals react to orgasm. I've seen mating and zoo videos, but are there signs that are best witnessed in person, like breathing, clutching and such? Can you tell when it's especially good for them?

I'm especially curious about the canine tie in particular. From a video it doesn't look very orgasmic, but I've heard it claimed that they are kind of unresponsive and in a aort of trance-like state. Can anyone elaborate? Can you tell somehow that they're feeling pleasure during the tie, other than the genital convulsions?

There is a couple of things you can look for while having sex with a male dog.
The knot and the tip of the penis will pulse. The anus will pulse at the same time. If you stop stimulating the penis, this pulsing will slowly stop, when you begin to stimulate it again the pulsing will resume.

The dog will have a very relaxed facial expression, open mouth, drooling, closed or half closed eyes. He would just stand there keeping a constant pressure on his knot against your hand. Very similar to what you will see in mating videos.

After sex he might be very excited and happily run around waving his tail.

Both male and female dogs have a short burst of rapid, pounding heart rate of up to 240 beats per minute for about 4-5 secs when they reach orgasm. Their sudden pounding heart beats then slowly start drop steady over the next 30 secs or so. During orgasm, male dogs sometimes breath harder, freezes in position and staring blankly into space for about 8 or so seconds. I see them lick their lips and have their mouths slightly open.
I notice also male dogs stand hunched, eyes slightly closed in a relaxed expression, panting softly, appear languorous and standing reasonably still while he ejaculates prostatic fluid.
After he is done, he may lie down and be completely relaxed. He may also go straight to sleep, which is really cute!
Some bitches can have multiple orgasms and have post-orgasm zoomies!

As far as I can tell, almost everything, but to a different extent. In this case, the heart rate also changes with each successive peak. But my subjective sample is certainly not enough.

What is the most intense orgasm you've seen an animal have?
Masturbating and collecting semen from an intact male Golden Retriever years ago through the gaps of a gate as he was standing upright with his front paws resting on a horizontal bar connected to that gate, supporting the front half of his body weight. He was thrusting very fast and vigorously as I grabbed and stimulate him behind his knot, shortly afterwards I saw his completely dazed look, glassy-eyed expression, and quite a number of really strong, heavy breathing with his mouth slightly open and tongue sticking out as he orgasmed into my collection container. He stood stiff in that standing position for at least 10 seconds as he was ejaculating. Decent volume of really concentrated sperm-rich fraction. Must have felt like an extremely intense, whole-bodied orgasm for him from what I remembered.

That sounds amazing! I would love to do that and drink his specimen as an after orgasm cocktail.

Thinking about these things kinda makes me wish I could temporarily co-habitate the mind/body of a dog to feel exactly what they feel throughout the entire process. Said dog would remain entirely in control; I'd just be along for the ride.
You and me both

Yes! That's been my fantasy even before I knew human/animal zoophilia existed (I got into mating first). I wouldn't mind being in control either, though

Must've been an amazing experience for you. Videos don't really show that kind of reaction, at least for someone like me who's not familiar with dogs' body language.

I tracked down guide for sex with dogs that was around years ago on a prominent zoo website: https://web.archive.org/web/20060101063156/http://www.zoophile.net/howto-k9-sex-09.php. It claims that the male dog's orgasm is over when he turns around, and he doesn't feel particularly good during the tie, being bored instead. Seems like this opinion is not in vogue these days.

I do not agree with that. I have seen dogs both mine and in video closing their eyes and having an extremely satisfied expression while being in this position. This is also when the dog pulls on the knot which seems to have an effect on cumming and pleasure.
You've got to define "orgasm" first. The medical definition of male orgasm is "emits sperm" and that happens somewhere around the third thrust. I guess you can think of the rest of it as taking a long time to finish the orgasm.

I'd define orgasm (in both males and females) as muscle contractions in the genital area, together with release of pleasure hormones.

It's annoying how biologists talking about animal sexual pleasure always include something like "there's no way to really know what the animal is feeling". Animals (incl females) have the same kind of muscular contractions as humans; many go rigid or do human-like involuntary motions or sounds. It would be possible in principle to measure hormones and brain activity too (although this kind of stuff is sadly often done lethally or invasively). If an animal's behavior and brain activity are largely the same as a human's during orgasm, the simplest explanation is that the mental experience is similar too. Especially if the behaviors are such which humans experience as motivated or caused by pleasure.

It seems like science acknowledges animal orgasms only when it wants to.
They did a study on monkeys (I don't remember which species now) and came to the conclusion that the females have more orgasms with other females than with other males. There are even people who think HUMAN females don't orgasm!

Once I was arguing with a stupid person who tried to claim that zoophilia is wrong because animals feel no sexual pleasure... lol!
I got her "backed into a corner" by saying okay, but animals orgasm, you must admit at least males have a very visible orgasm and they fuck because they want to have that orgasm and they mate because they feel horny, and she was like "But we don't know they feel horny! The urge to mating can be akin to some other feeling like pain" and I was like "So you think animals feel pain when they want to mate and it stops when they get to mate...?" and she said "No, not pain, but some other feeling akin to it!" "Okay, so sexual pleasure and horniness?" "No, something else!" "Like.. pain?" "No, something else!" "Horniness" "No, something else!!" and I just dropped it at that point :ROFLMAO:

The LENGTHS of what people go trough to try and deny animals feel pleasure during sex..!

Yeah, it's ignorant and not based on observable reality or science. Most male and female mammals can orgasm given the right stimulation. And to suggest sex is "akin to pain" in animals and only humans derive pleasure is ludicrous and is a horribly uneducated speculation. When you see a human woman having a "snapping orgasm" from genital stimulation, and then you see the same involuntary contractions in a non-human from similar stimulation, I find it hard to accept it when someone flatly says "it's not the same for them, it's not an orgasm". IMO they are being intentionally contrary because of the way they feel about animal sex and because we like to think we are special, and the thought of animals having orgasms as humans do is offensive to them; they are just simple critters and we are more complex and superior (which - with the exception of our brains - we are not). I say, if it quacks, looks and walks like a duck, it's probably a duck. Mammals have all the same "feel-good" hormones: dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, endorphin, etc. These are hormones are released heavily during sex and/or orgasm to make us feel good which promotes reproduction. Because these same hormones are present in non-human animals - and along with similar involuntary physical responses as humans display - to suggest it's "totally different for them" is ignorant, dismissive, and conceited.

I think it has a LOT to do with human conceit and because we are "above" or more "advanced" than most other mammals. I think we can all agree most humans like having sex, and think it's a "special" thing, but when most humans see animals having sex, they think it's funny or gross, or both. Why is that? Most humans don't consider human sex funny or gross, even though it's more-or-less the same process, same organs, same secretions, etc., etc.

I'd love to hear more details if you can provide! Zoos too rarely talk about seeing animals mate in person.
The female belongs to a nonzoo person who had her spayed. But the vet messed it up, so she still goes into heat, she just can not have puppies. We went on a trip with the dogs along with a couple more people with the possibility that the dogs may mate. I took my camera of course and I hope I did not seem too much excited about it. :D Non of the people knew how dog mating works so I expained it to them after the dogs tied for the first time. I was very happy for the dogs since they both seemed to really enjoy it. I took some photos but nothing sexual, mostly their faces. They mated twice during the trip. I have not actually seen my dog as happy as that before. :D Unfortunately the female got seriously hurt near the end of the trip because she hit a sharp branch at full speed while sprinting through the forest. She was taken to the vet who had to sew her back together. She is ok now.

Poor girl, I'm glad she was okay in the end.

It's wonderful that her owners would let her mate just for pleasure. Did you suggest it, and weren't they worried that it'd be painful for her or something? Since many people believe that animals and especially females don't enjoy sex. There's also the myth that being tied is super uncomfortable for dogs.

The idea of having a pair of animals who'd be able to become mates for life without the worry of excessive babies would be a dream of mine. To watch them mate year after year, knowing that they have an deep emotional bond in top of just lust.

What showed you that it felt better than usual for your dog (assuming you've been intimate with him as well?)

No not really. The owner was kind of indifferent to their dog having some sex. She apparently likes to escape during heat and kind of fuck around with the dogs in the neighborhood. :D And she did seem quite experienced at mating. There was no pulling, no stress really at one point she even got bored. :D I guess because my dog is not her size.
To be honest the owner did not even want to see that.

There is a female version of vasectomy that can be done to prevent puppies but the heat cycle remains.
To me it seems kind of wrong to modify my animal for convenience but there are also good reasons to do so. But this is a complicated subject thst would require careful consideration to make the right decision.

Their body language and facial expressions. This was like a literal dream come true for my dog. He was overflowing with joy that he has this incredibly attractive female who is actually willing to let him mount her right there.
