Can you elaborate a little? I'm trying to kind of consider as a while package. I've never been mounted, but would like to. So I know I'd like a male, but not a huge male. So I take all of into consideration for the most part. Obviously need to connect with it too. You said see what's local, do you mean other zoos who breed? Because I never actually thought about that. lol
I think what they were referring to is the connection and even romantic feeling you may get from adopting a new dog. Are you doing this to have a true bond, romantic connection, have this animal be your lover.. or is it fetish based no real emotions involved just sexual.
What breeds are you most attracted to, what do you love about their personality, do you connect with them etc
I could be wrong but i assume "see what's local" means nearby shelters and places to adopt?
You could even go on craigslist or Facebook and see if anyone's selling pups.. this is more sketchy but some people have accidental litters and are rehoming them cheaply. Always be safe and use proper judgement.
I think its important to understand what you truly want and what you're looking for / what you're actually into.
Next would be doing
proper research into knowing when your dog is interested and wanting vs abuse and forcing. Your animal companion should never feel forced to engage in any activities. Learning about proper body language, sexual language, how to's etc in general is incredibly important here.
Lastly,
You obviously should NOT have a male and female who are not fixed. I would choose whichever you truly want more / will want a bond with.
Would you rather pussy or dick lol
Also, i personally don't recommend to spay or neuter until 1.5-2 years of age so they can fully develop and not run into any hormone issues etc.
But if i only had 1 dog i would
not spay or neuter at all unless it had to be done for the dogs health -- ex pyometra risks in females.
BUT to get to the point, you could start with a male that you truly feel you can build a trusting, loving intimate relationship with and neuter him at 2 years old so you can get a female and then have TWO animal partners/companions that you truly love, cherish, and want that romantic and loving connection with. Just because you neuter the male doesn't mean he wont have any sexual interest. It may become less and lower but he can still get hard and enjoy himself. The you'll have a female who's not fixed you can enjoy both of your lovers.
Or vise versa
Although they do say males even when fixed can sometimes produce semen and impregnant a female so i would be careful if you start with a female and then get a male.
Regardless, just make sure you are sharing a genuine loving bond with your companion and don't use them for your own pleasures.
