How to attach a photo/video to a message or comment please?

I don’t know if it is the same on a computer, but attached to the top of the dialogue box you type these messages in is various buttons that do different things. The one that looks like a box with a dot in the top left corner of it and waves that I can best describe as a very simplistic drawing of hills lets you attach pictures.
