Not sure where to place, and hoping (against hope?) it does not hit the DF...
Ok, so Jan 17.
Saint Anthony.
An odd saint that is represented with animals around, even accompanied by a pig that always followed him.
He is officially the patron and protector both of farmers and farm animals.
(Personally, and given his historically affinity for animals, I'd declare him patron of zoophiles too, even if I doubt my local priest would be happy)
Churches actually bless animals and should be the only occasion where holy water is used on beasts, which I for one would think the church would totally dissaprove otherwise
Also, plenty of shows, animals on the streets and a chance to get near for us.
To me this is one of those yearly opportunities to go relate with plenty of horses, mules and donkeys filling the streets for the traditional "tres tombs" (they went around the village passing three times with charts and everything in a show)
