Real zoo community

Think of this: we make a mass exodus to a zoo-legal area (in the USA, West Virginia sounds good. John Denver can't be wrong) and buy a ranch.

With enough people, the cost per person drops dramatically.

We could have a place to play with each other and our animal companions and, while violating taboos, we would be legally in the clear.

In my experience when you get too many zoos together it becomes a drama fest full of infighting over what animal belongs to who and who can have sex with it. The only way that I see this working is if it were more of a gated community with private property rights and strictly adhered to rules, rather than the free for all "commune" style that most seekers imagine. The problem with this idea is that most zoos well off enough to own and care for large animals have no interest in moving far away and most canine exclusive zoos are fine simply staying hidden.

Fun in theory, difficult in practice.

this

Also, OP, you clearly don't know how it works. 30 years ago most of the US was "a zoo-legal area".

I agree with the other posters. The fact money and property is involved is an invitation for a clusterfuck, such a dense community with serious internal issues would perish so fast to the haters. And even if it wasn't the case, it gives me Jonestown vibes.

I make some mean Kool-aid.

I personally wouldn’t mind living in an area with fellow zoos, but I would not like to live on a ranch with a lot of people. I would rather it be like I have zoo neighbors, who are a mile or so down the road.

The problem with fleeing to an area where it is “legal” is that that can change at any time, and most likely will in the future.

This. It seems like new anti zoo laws are passed as soon as somebody gets caught and the prosecutor says "Holy shit, what do you mean this isn't a felony?." If a zoo ranch were discovered in any state that doesn't expressly prohibit bestiality I assure you that immediate and immense public outcry would have a law passed real quick.

It really doesn't, unless you're talking about bundling up people and selling them at a Costco, than maybe.

No. I'm a single player unless my dogs are frisky, than I'll play co-op with them.

5th post of basically the same "plan" just in a different way. Could quickly turn into a brothel situation.... West Virginia would make it illegal so fast you can't even get a second blink in, because someone was an idiot and made it happen. Whatever happened to just chat with zoos, make friends, and if they trust each other, they can decide to play with their animals and not have a brothel fest going on?

the OP assumes that all people in this lifestyle are the same in values, morals, ethics, and even preferences, let alone mental capacity and state-of-mind.

i think that this community is no different than any other non-zoo community wherein there are so many complex differences from person to person that if you put enough people into one confined location for a long enough period of time, drama and self-interest will come out and start to cause friction amongst the inhabitants. the commonality of love and acts of love that we share with our animal counterparts are not enough to bond us together to form a strong enough community to survive long-term. we are humans and humans are way too complex already even before considering this lifestyle.

in short, it's good when it's good but when it gets bad (and it will get bad; it's a "when" and not an "if"), it's gonna get really bad. some things are just best left alone and in the dark or in private (at least for now).

feels a lot like the underlying plan of ppl like the op is "i wanna have different animals at my disposal", because it's just so obvious this "plan" can't work... we are all different ppl.. we are mostly not even on the same page of how we view our own "zooey-ness". to some it's just a fetish, to some an orientation. there are no real rules, because it's not a religion, a cult or a fully-fledged culture so of course a "shared community" can't work. at least not in a way like various actual communities seem to work (like the amish for example)-
