Quick question about BLOCKING.

I feel a little uneasy and wanted to make a warning post about someone. But before I do I want to ask a question about blocking.

I don't see a block option, only an IGNORE one. Is that the same thing? Will this individual still see my post?

No, there is no block. Ignore just hides their posts from you, they can still see you.

As is standard for forums, a place of public discourse.
You can stand in one corner of the square preaching about Apollo and choose not to go listen to the guy on the other corner preaching about Posiden, but you can't prevent him from coming over to listen to your preaching.

Option to block people to prevent them from seeing/ replying to posts that you make and prevent them from DMing you or posting on your profile.

Basically what the title says. It’s sad that there isn’t really a way to do this.

My issue is I have a member who has somehow located all my public social media including facebook. I wanted to warn people.
 
If this user is harassing you and it is apparent from interaction here in PM or on the forum and you have something to prove the connection, you can report it and use this rule:

I have and was given a response back from another moderator saying this...

Oh I can see this now, but when I give an alternate profile on another social media platform with an dissociated email and name...
It's just incredibly wild they've now messaged me on tiktok, instagram, fb and twitter now.

They do not know what you gave them. It is a reasonable guess.
I guess something on that alternate profile still connects to your actual profile.
Is the harassment you are getting violent or predatory in any way?

You can "ignore" them on here and any other platform

Sadly nothing you can do about that now, if you gave them a link to another platform/social media that even has a tangible link to your real life then thats it, you will need to change you real life

As for harassing, on here then check in with a moderator for help

Tangible being what? A fake name with a fake email not used for anything else? Nah. I don't see how they can make these connections.

I get it though. I've blocked them everywhere and just hoping it disappears. Most things have temporarily went private for anyone not a friend.

Well, since we don't know what your "other" account was or its details its very hard to say but most likely they picked a picture you had, did a reverse search and hey presto found you posted it on your IRL account or a very similar pic or maybe something you liked on that account you also liked on your IRL account which linked the two

Something along those lines

Its why the number one rule when posting pics after removing geolocation tags is NEVER post a picture here with your face, tats etc or one that you have used on any other site and just blurred out bits as it can still be searched

Those are different things.

That someone can somehow grab your oersonal details, is nothing mods can do anything about.

BUT, what Pescsays is... if you have proof on the PM that he is harrassing you, or make any remote claim to out you... Then you report hom and he is done.

Thing gone bad, you may also ask mods to delete the user and open another one keeping a low enough profile so you go under the guys radar.
