Question after first time

So it happened, surprisingly lol. I’ve been working with my younger dog and it’s still a work in progress. But I recently got an older male and thought what the heck. He was the previous owners stud dog. I got down on all fours, teased him a little bit and he mounted and went to town. We didn’t know but I was pretty much in shock so didn’t really try to get him to stay.

My question is… what is the rebound time frame when a dog is ready to go again? I want to be respectful of him and not over whelm him. Just wanting some insight. Thank you ?

It is individual. At some point he will learn to ask for it himself.
A day could be a safe time, though if you try too early, he is probably going to refuse you.
