Question about the "boar" videos.

So, the videos that claim to have a boar, I honestly don't think that the animal is actually a boar. Due to my recent experience playing the Far Cry games and RDR2, I've come to realize that boars, have tusks, and are usually assholes. The animal featured in the videos has neither of those attributes, no tusks, and they aren't assholes. So, why not just call them what they are?, Pigs. Not boars.

You are confusing boars with havalenas they are very similar to boars but enough of a difference to seperate them.

Boar is s flexible term. It can mean wild pig, Male pig, or feral pig depending on context. However, for general discussion a Male pig is a boar, a female is a gilt if it hasn't been bred, and a sow if it has.

Bears are also included in the BOAR / Sow categories, so it's not just porcine's. (pigs)

Makes sense. (But really, every time a game has a boar, they are 100% guaranteed be an asshole to you, you just want to explore, but out of nowhere you get their tusks shoved up your ass ?)

A wild boar or wild pig is highly aggressive and do grow tusk. There are for fighting and protection.

Domestic boars have them and must be clipped from time to time to protect other board and sows during breeding. The piglets are born with them and they have to be clipped to stop them from destroying the teats.

All wild hogs grow the tusk. It’s why you never approach one. The boars just have more defined tusk. The movement of the tusk against each other keeps them sharp.
