Question about messages.

I am wondering how the message counter works. My profile says I have made 41 messages, but when I go to check my activity it says that I have 99 messages. Are all messages not the same? It's no big deal, I'm just curious. Well that and the ability to chat here.

Being able to DM requires 10 posts if I'm not mistaken.

Posts on game discussion threads do not count towards that total.
Deleted posts (by you or mods) don't count either, but can skew the total post count on our profiles.

That makes sense, thank you very much for the explanation. I do have a lot of game discussion posts.

Games, profile and personals posts do not count. A post is for the purposes of advancing up the ranks, or acquiring DMs, edit capabilities and the like. A public post on any of the threads other than the above counts. Even a simple "Hello" in introductions counts.

Personals do. Just Fun & Games and profile posts don't.
