they do have a prostate + rectum itself has loads of nerve endings... i don't doubt some can enjoy it

This means that an erection can be involuntary and does not immediately signal enjoyment.
I would rather base the concusion whether your dog enjoys anal on other observations.
For example:
Does he ask you for anal or do you always have to initiate it yourself?
How does he behave when you do that?
Does he seem to be enjoying it, or do you have to prevent him from walking away?
