Some people use socks. Or you can keep some of you clothes on.

Ours don't wear socks. I don't worry about scratches so much. My Harry prefers me in missionary and he only occasionally leaves a mark, but he is normally well behaved.

You can either have his nails trimmed (but not removed, that is disgusting) or just wear a t-shirt.

Hit a used clothing store...pick up a pair of toddler sweats( or whatever size needed)long enough to overlap his paws, and cut most of the crotch out of them. If you leave the elastic cuff at the bottom, he wont be able to ride them up much. Throw them over his shoulders, then pull them onto his front legs. Works, washable and you can even use these as his "indicator" for play time...if so, choose an intense color shade, so they dont resemble anything else.

I keep their nails trimmed and smooth the tips with a Dremel sander. They occasionally leave scratches, but it's not painful so I don't mind.
