Pets and camping

That's my question.
Do you guys bring your pets / companions camping? If so, it is only you and them or do you bring another human friends as well?

Thanks!

I bring my dog whether it’s just me or a group of people. He loves being out there, and they’re great for warning you of other animals that tend to lurk in the darkness. Not so great for hunting tho lol

When my furry baby came to me I was actually living in the woods. I had enough of slumlords, rent scams, and IL high rent costs, told myself I'd never rent a residential place again, went to live like a yeti in the woods for many years.

I had a storage unit, was a college student as and employed, while I sold online video game products on eBay. It was a very solitary and lonely life. I think I rented for six months only in that several years time frame before I got into trucking. My dog came to me and loved one year in the woods with me before we went into trucking.

I can say it was very nice. We had camp fires, and cooked homemade food over the fire all the time. We had a nice fishing spot and swimming area in a creek. Jack could run around wherever he wanted freely. Great security dog too. Kept the raccoons and coyotes away. Winter was nice too, we stayed very warm, and my toes were never cold with him in the sleeping bag with me like three previous winters. I'm retired now and getting nice FAFSA funding on top of my retirement and business revenue, and we're probably going to do an actual campground for most of 2023 while I'm at this one college for the year.

I will say that he had a winter dog coat. If your doing winter camping, make sure you have one for your pup. Also gravy train is good in winter so you can give him a hot tasty meal to regulate body temperature for your pup. If your doing it in summer, gotta make sure there is a natural water area he can cool off in.

A very interesting experience. Thanks for sharing and for the suggestions.
