On the topic of Permission to Use Content

Silvervine

Citizen of Zooville
So a discussion unfolded in Beast Chat that got me wondering on a few things. Our rules state that media and other content cannot be shared without the permission from the creator(s)/actor(s) in the content. And in some cases, that's feasible. If a member shares content with another member in confidence, then the first member goes and shares it elsewhere, the second member can simply step up and say "I don't consent to the content being shared." Mods intervene, problem solved.

But what about instances when the creators can't consent? A member has sex with a non-zoo, then the member shares the pictures on here. Nothing identifiable is shown, but the non-zoo can't come and give/refuse consent, though one can infer that the non-zoo likely wouldn't be happy in knowing it would be shared. Or a non-zoo artist draws some amazing non-zoo art that gets reposted here. How does that come into play?

Not trying to start shit anywhere, just wanting to pick some brains and figure out where the line starts and ends.

Every time I post this, someone complains about it or wants to argue about it. I won't be replying to anyone who wants to argue about it, because this is how the law reads:
"Under 17 U.S.C. 504 AND International Law, WHETHER FOR PROFIT OR NOT, the consequences of reposting or republishing anything without the WRITTEN permission of the originator, author or producer of the work, which is copyright infringement, will include statutory damages of between $750 and $30,000 per work, at the discretion of the court, and damages of up to $150,000 per work for willful infringement."

You can't find or contact the author or owner of the work? Too bad. You cannot use it.

(Addendum to my last comment)
A number of years back, some lady stole three images of me and used them on her web site selling her services, representing the images as being her. Not so oddly, my face wasn't showing in any of them. I was furious and sued her. The court ordered her to buy them from me. My price was exorbitant, and I was surprised she paid it, but she did.
