New furry TF anime - Brand New Animal!

Anyone else following this series, there only seems to be a few episodes released so far, but it looks really promising. Basically, some kind of hidden mutations cause random people to turn into anthropomorphic animals, which is apparently seen as a bad thing, though of course it's actually every furry's fantasy

Some are able to transform at will, while others are stuck in it permanently. So they start their own parallel society with laws and traditions of their own, but there seems to be a secretive group who's causing the transformations, or at least using them for a hidden agenda


There's also Beastars which has been around a while and is available on Netflix, but it seems a lot less action-oriented and spectacular, with a much smaller cast of characters. I haven't actually watched either of them yet, though!

I only now finally watched the whole thing. I would say it's so and so. It's basically a superhero show more than anything, still kind of worth seeing just for the animation and the furry aspect. There's too much random things happening for no reason that are never referred to again, which weakens the story, there's also a "very girly" friendship subplot that feels really out of place, along with some surprisingly violent parts that are treated as comical. The last two episodes are really good though, and kind of redeem it, but i'd say unless you like childish, action-packed enemy-of-the-week cartoons like TMNT it's less than essential. Compared to Beastars - that's an absolute masterpiece, even from what i heard i really didn't expect the story to be THAT good.
