Need advice

Hi! im in need of some advice on how to start on with my female dog, shes virgin and i never experienced with dogs before only mares so i dont know how to start, everytime i tried it it would simply not get in and she would leave, how do i make it easier for her and for me? if you guys can help me with some advice on how to start without hurting her i would be thankful
