Native player?

Hey Everyone! I have a quick technical question, no idea where to post it, but mods feel free to delete if this is the wrong area.

Sometimes when viewing videos, it prompts me to download. I'd like to view content in the native player, if possible.

Is there a way to enable that in site settings?

No, this isn't a video site and doesn't stream. If your browser can't play it you must download.

You can fix this problem by convincing the forum's users to not use archaic video formats and use mp4 or those that the browser player can play.

I've seen it happen with .mp4 files. Some videos just don't show and only play audio... unless you download it and view it. Then it works fine.

mp4 is just a container, it doesn't define the codex inside it. Browsers only have a few standard codexes, if the video wasn't encoded with one of them it won't play. This isn't a video site, it doesn't convert files to browser friendly encoding.
