My parent's dogs are freaks

Currently visiting my parents over summer. They live in the countryside and last time I was here was around 4 months ago. Back then they had just "adopted" a stray female dog who had just given birth to two pups of which only one survived. This pup was such a lively little fella and my brother and I insisted, or almost begged, our mom and dad to give them both, mom dog and pup a chance.

However, since I arrived again things have changed quite a lot and the pup is now constantly trying to mate with his own mom which is extremely embarrassing, actually disturbing to see, especially if my parents are around.
The dogs engage into frisky fights that often end up with an initiated penetration which would even go further if I didn't yell at them to stop. I've just read on the internet that it's actually not a rare sight but come on... Wtf

Is there any sincere advice of an experienced dog owner that can tell me what to do to inhibit this instinct? Sorry if this question alone is condemnable but I'm being seriously in need of help here.

You're not going inhibit it. You can separate them when the bitch is in season or you can rehome one of them. With a lot of training you can get them to not do it when people are around, but as soon as the usual people leave they will do as they please.

At 4 months old this is probably just dominant behaviour by the pup, your parents could try to step up obedience training. Your parents and the dogs are a pack, and if the dogs don't see your parents as the pack leaders then they will fight over who gets to rule the house.

Lol yep this can be a thing with dogs. If it carries on when he's old enough to mate and she goes into heat, you need to keep them apart ?

Such an uncomfortable situation to sit around your parents on the terrace while the dogs do that ??‍♂️?

The pup actually starts it with repeatedly biting his mom into the neck. When I see him doing that I already know what's going to follow.

Can someone please send me a link that explains what it means when a bitch is in heat?
What are the indicators for that?

Yeah honestly there’s not much of a solution I’m afraid. Unless you’re willing to separate them I’m afraid you’re gonna need to castrante one of them

Once every 6 months a female dog will go into heat. When that happens she’s “fertile”, aka: capable of getting pregnant. During the 16-18 days of the heat she’ll emit pheromones that male dogs can detect from literally kilometers away, that tell them that she’s “open for business”. During this time she’ll also be super horny.
The indicators (aside from all the male dogs lining up in your front lawn) are her having a swollen vulva, bleeding from the vulva, humping, licking, moving/lifting her tail when touched.

Just gotta keep them apart

Usually, when you “adopt” a pet, doesn’t the center usually neuter or spay the animal? If they’re fixed, let them have their fun. I don’t think the concept of incest enters their thoughts….only instinct.

Wow! Sounds exactly like my former wife? ?

It sounds like boy needs to learn some respect :ROFLMAO: Basic training goes a long way, even like "sit, paw, lay down" before he's allowed to eat any meal or have a treat, but you have to be consistent with it. Once he gets out of his puppy age he might settle down a bit, but training will help a lot.

It's when she goes into season and her body is ready for mating. Her pussy will swell up, she'll start bleeding from it and she will smell potent. It happens every 6 months so I guess she might be due soon if she's not gone into heat already.

There's an entire section for female dogs, but this thread might help-
