Currently visiting my parents over summer. They live in the countryside and last time I was here was around 4 months ago. Back then they had just "adopted" a stray female dog who had just given birth to two pups of which only one survived. This pup was such a lively little fella and my brother and I insisted, or almost begged, our mom and dad to give them both, mom dog and pup a chance.
However, since I arrived again things have changed quite a lot and the pup is now constantly trying to mate with his own mom which is extremely embarrassing, actually disturbing to see, especially if my parents are around.
The dogs engage into frisky fights that often end up with an initiated penetration which would even go further if I didn't yell at them to stop. I've just read on the internet that it's actually not a rare sight but come on... Wtf
Is there any sincere advice of an experienced dog owner that can tell me what to do to inhibit this instinct? Sorry if this question alone is condemnable but I'm being seriously in need of help here.
